Uruguay
Uruguay is the smallest Spanish-speaking country in South America, yet it is more than four times bigger than Switzerland. It is famous for its beaches, some of which we visited traveling mostly along the coast.
The country is mostly flat, the highest peak being at 513m above sea level, and thus the roads not very interesting to travel.
Colonia del Sacramento
Colonia del Sacramento is one of the oldest towns in Uruguay and sports a small center.
The Beaches
We stopped at a few beaches traveling northeast along the coast.
Paraíso Suizo is located directly at a very nice and flat beach. It is a well known spot for overlanders to prepare their vehicle before or after shipment.
We spent a couple of days in La Predera at Playa Rubia before heading to PN de Santa Teresa. We wild camped directly in front of Playa Grande.
